Associate Scrum Master

Job Summary Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for an Associate Level Scrum Master to oversee an Agile team made up of Software Developers and QA Analysts.   The Scrum Master provides effective collaboration, facilitation, leadership, and coaching skills by supporting the teams through an Agile development process toward achieving their objectives. Working under moderate supervision, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Scrum process is running smoothly for your team as they work to deliver software applications that revolutionize the global business of insurance.  You will do everything possible to ensure your team is fully functional and productive via eliminating distractions, facilitating discussion, and resolving conflicts within the team.  You will also work to establish a proper power balance amongst all individuals involved in the Agile process - including your team, the Product Owner the team interfaces with, as well as management. Additional responsibilities include: Organize meetings, reviews, and retrospectives Keep the team focused on the current sprint, encouraging them to work toward Definition of Done and achievement of sprint goals Encourage and help to achieve transparency and disclosure to the business side of the company Empower self-organization by the team and supports empowerment of the team Educate and focus team toward business-driven and/or test-driven development Support team building and team development by utilizing the abilities and skills of individuals and fosters a feedback culture Proactively seek ways to improve processes while detecting and solving hidden problems Proactively participate in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices Elevate issues and conflicts to Management as needed Establish strong relationships with other product teams to promote collaboration Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or related technology field; or equivalent work experience Knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) concepts; understanding of Agile, Kanban, or Waterfall methodologies Demonstrates high personal integrity and ability to earn trust and respect from others; ability to garner respect from team and be willing to get hands dirty to get the job done Proven leadership abilities and solid presentation skills Excellent facilitator, including conflict management abilities Respectful, professional interpersonal style when working with diverse personality types (stakeholders, team members, management, etc.) High attention to detail Must be collaborative in driving decisions and constructively resolving problems Demonstrated aptitude for acquiring knowledge, skills, and new technologies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
