Automotive Service Advisor

Job Description

Most often called a service advisor or service writer, Scott's U-Save is hiring for a Service Consultant. Our team members are not expected to sell services; rather, our team members are expected to understand customer concerns, determine best processes to diagnose problems, and then explain to the customer their options. Our customers choose what they have done to their vehicle. We do not sell them on what needs to be done.

A successful Service Consultant is an ambitious problem solver who thrive in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for Service Consultantswho are honest, trustworth, and can handle multiple cars at once. We are a large shop that sees numerous makes and models of cars each day.

Service Consultant - Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and assist them with any inquiries
  • Consult with customer on service needs, recommendations, and applicable future service needs
  • Document services recommended and ask for follow up on future service considerations
  • Keep customer informed on completion times, service expenses, and possible changes
  • Ensure all customer concerns are addressed

Qualifications

Service Consultant - Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • An aggressive customer service/experience focus
  • ASE C1 certificate
  • Full understanding of vehicle system components and functions (preferred)
  • Some diagnosictic ability (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to translate information and knowledge from ASE Technician to customer
  • Computer proficiency
  • Valid Driver s License and good driving record
  • The desire to help build and drive customer loyalty
  • A drive to continually learn

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
