Glassware Washer

Job Summary

Cleans and washes all glassware used by laboratory personnel. Maintains inventory and inspects for damage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Wash all glassware by hand including beakers, flasks, tubes, funnels and cylinders.

  • Dry glassware following defined procedures prior to returning to service.

  • Perform routine inspections of glass for cracks, chips and breaks.

  • Remove damaged glass in order to be repaired or replaced.

  • Maintain clean, dry, and organized work areas and comply with all safety requirements regarding glassware handling and possible slips due to water.

  • Lifting and Carrying:

Lifting and carrying glassware racks weighing up to 50 pounds

  • Pushing and Pulling:

Pushing or pulling racks weighing up to 50 pounds. Pushes or pulls container on dollies or carts as needed

  • Body Positions:

Standing (100%) when inspecting the glassware

  • Body Movements:

Reaching, when obtaining pieces of glassware for inspection

  • Hand Use:

Holding, washing and inspecting glassware


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
