The company maintains a rental fleet consisting of more than 20,000 units, including steel tanks, polyethylene tanks, roll-off boxes, pumps, pipes, hoses and fittings, filtration units, tank trailers, berms and trench shoring equipment. BakerCorp serves customers in over 15 industries including oil and gas, industrial and environmental services, refining, environmental remediation, construction, chemicals, transportation, power and municipal works. The company also works with customers to deliver a mix of products and services for a wide variety of applications that include: chemical, manufacturing, refining, construction, municipal, industrial services, environmental remediation, power generation, tank terminal/pipeline operations, transportation, mining, electronics and wastewater.
Industrial Pump Mechanic
Essential Functions - Duties may include the following as needed:

  • Using Baker Quality Management System, perform equipment inspection, diagnose and report customer damages

  • Troubleshoot diesel, electric and hydraulic drive systems and related pump equipment to ensure proper function

  • Perform diagnostic checks using computer technology and observational methods

  • Inspect, repair and maintain pumps, control panels and related mechanical and electrical systems and devices

  • Repair damaged equipment to required OEM standards

  • Receive, inspect and stock required inventory including filters, belts, hoses, and general mechanical repair parts.

  • Create accurate parts lists and track inventory used

  • Instruct technicians and customers on proper operation and maintenance of pumping equipment

  • Delivers exceptional customer service

  • Operates company vehicle as deemed necessary by branch management

  • Monitor safety and regulatory compliance

Working Conditions

  • Indoor/outdoor, Shop, yard, and customer locations

  • Exposure to all types of weather conditions

  • Working on, underneath, and around various types of equipment

  • Exposure to varying levels of dust and noise

  • Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required and is provided by the company

Physical Requirements
The size, location and customer type for each BakerCorp branch determines the degree of physical labor required in this job category. In general, however, the driver job category involves frequent or constant heavy labor, including lifting, carrying, stooping, pushing and pulling

Job Qualifications
Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of safety awareness in performing all job duties

  • A fully qualified/experienced Mechanic with a substantial understanding of the job function, applying knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks

  • Knowledge of construction equipment with basic understanding of schematics and diagrams

  • General diesel engine diagnostics and ancillary repairs

  • General electrical and circuit testing skills

  • Able to perform diagnostic checks using computer technology

  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

  • Ability to self-direct as required and perform work under minimal instruction, receive general direction on new assignments

  • Basic welding skills preferred, but not required

  • Ability to use basic hand-held technology as required. Smart phones, Tablets, diagnostic devices etc.

  • Ability to be on-call after hours in a rotation with other employees.

  • Ability to make occasional overnight trips

  • Ability to drive company vehicles (at applicable licensing level) as required by branch management

  • Ability to operate machinery such as forklift and overhead shop cranes

  • Willingness to participate in Company provided training as needed or required


  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)

Experience & Other:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of related mechanical / pump repair andmaintenanceexperience

  • Rental/industrial background preferred, but not required

  • State Issued Driver's License required

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
