Job Summary Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching a Software Build & Release Developer to join our ALM Service team, which empowers other development teams at Applied to deliver features and fixes to our customers faster, with higher quality, while reducing or eliminating down time. In this role, you will work in a collaborative Agile environment to develop, maintain, and support applications to build software, execute tests, and deploy releases for a variety of Applied-client facing products. You will be relied upon to investigate problems, research various solutions, and devise a work plan to solve those problems.
Additional responsibilities include:
Participate in backlog grooming
Estimate user stories in hours
Code new and existing functionality
Participate in daily standups
Handle work tickets from other departments and automated processes
Conduct code reviews
Participate in Agile retrospectives
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent work experience
5+ years of application development experience in a team environment
Demonstrable proficiency writing code in C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net, and SQL Server. Candidates with C++ or Java coding, and ALM, build & release software engineering, or configuration management experience are encouraged to apply
Familiarity with configuration of Windows Operating Systems; Server Management a plus
Demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio or comparable IDE
Able to demonstrate calling applications via scripting and command line at a basic level
Desired but not required:
Basic understanding of databases
Package Management
Cloud Computing or Virtualization
Team Foundation Services
MCSA, MCSE, MCSD or comparable certifications

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
