Shop Technician - (University Park, IL)

Assembly and repair of all Holland products. Focus on improvement through Lean Manufacturing processes and practices. Use hand and power tools, micrometers, digital volt meter, other devices to measure current, resistance, amperage, hydraulic pressure, and fluid flow. Use precision instruments requiring interpretation. Work from electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings and specifications. Check own work, and work of others to diagnose and correct problems. Where applicable, employee must be willing to work with voltages ranging from 480V to 5 volt. Show proficiency to weld with stick and MIG. Must be able to use standard hand tools and shop equipment. Work to improve overall productivity, quality and reliability of all Holland products. At times may lead small groups of fellow employees.
The duties will include, but will not be limited to:
Supply on time and quality products to all Holland customers.
Safety (5-S) / discipline practices and enforcement of Main shop safety
Training personnel / cross training / documentation and records as required
Maintain clean and organized shop at all times
Maintain Shop Paper Work, excel spreadsheets, E.C.R.?S, N.C.R.?S, O.F.I?S, I.F.S. Procedures and work instructions etc. as required
Assist in testing, FAT?s and certifications
Participate in LEAN training and develop and support process improvement practices
Participate and support technical training programs as requested by the Group Supervisor or Production Manager
All other duties as assigned
Standing, walking, stooping, reaching, kneeling and bending, for extended periods required to perform basic functions along with some sitting
Hands on working position.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is regularly required
Vision must be sufficient for reading electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical prints and schematics.
Ability to climb a steep ladder frequently and move up and down from trucks
Ability to travel up to 30%
Exposure on a regular basis to mostly indoor and sometimes out door weather conditions.
Could be working at off sight locations either inside or out side.
Shop environment, dry conditions, heated shop, non air-conditioned.
All safety related gear and PPE provided.
Fully lighted and secure facility.
High school diploma or equivalent
Develop clear understanding of Holland quality expectations or requirements.
Read tape measure, mic?s and calipers
Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical prints and schematics
Working knowledge of the proper use of electrical diagnostic instruments and measurements tools.
Ability to understand bills of material and non-conformance procedures.
Capability in the usage of basic hand tools, fasteners and power tools (drills, grinders, etc.).
Able to work effectively as a team member.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Takes ownership in solving problems.
Able to meet deadlines.
Able to pass all pre-employment testing

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
