Manufacturing Engineer Intern

We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern based out of our facility in University Park, Illinois.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Engineer intern will be responsible for assisting the Manufacturing Engineering team with packaging consolidation / improvement and implementing production set-up times. This individual will have the opportunity to become an instrumental part of the daily production activities, including observations, analysis and recommendations to improve production processes and reduce costs.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Packaging consolidation / improvement - Work with Manufacturing Engineer team to:
reduce the number of boxes;
reduce cost by getting volume price cuts and changing higher cost boxes to lower cost options;
identify possible parts / vendors to use reusable containers; and
supply weights and dimensions to shipping, including JDE entry
2) Implement set-up times by:
analyzing cycle time data from 2017;
studying and capturing cycle time for product that is not accounted for in 2017 data; and
entering setup times into JDE.
3) Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:EDUCATION and SKILLS:
Undergraduate student pursuing major in Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering or other manufacturing technical concentration; must have completed at minimum of 2 years of college;
Solid analytical skills and self-motivated;
Ability to effectively communicate;
Willingness to work in a team environment;
Proficient user of Microsoft Office Tools: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Benefits of Employment:Benefits include paid holiday on Independence Day and company subsidized cafeteria.
This is a non-exempt classified position and therefore eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
